DURHAM, N.H. - The Rhode Island volleyball team (5-4) dropped a 3-2 decision to Seton Hall in its second match of the UNH Invitational on Saturday.
The Rams five-game match with Seton Hall marked the fourth-consecutive match that has gone the maxium five games. In those four matches, URI is 2-2.
For the second straight match URI had three players reach double figures in kills. Junior Caitlyn Welsh (Narragansett, R.I.) paced the squad with 14 kills. In nine matches this season, Welsh has recorded 10 or more kills in seven matches.
Freshmen Stacey Yohannes (Penfield, N.Y.) and Kayla Wilson (Santa Monica, Calif.) chipped in with 13 and 10 terminations, respectively.
Defensively for the Rams, senior Peggy Doino (Deer Park, N.Y.) led URI with a match-high 26 digs
Seton Hall captured the first game (25-22), but Rhode Island responded by winning games two (28-26) and three (25-14) to take a 2-1 advantage.
Seton Hall would then go on to capture games four (25-17) and five (15-9) to claim the match.
Rhode Island returns to action later this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. as it takes on Evansville.
