PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Rhode Island volleyball team (6-8 overall; 0-2 Atlantic 10) dropped its second straight conference match as it lost 3-1 to Temple on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Caitlyn Welsh (Narragansett, R.I.) posted a team-high 16 kills to lead the way offensively for the Rams. Welsh has recorded 10-or-more kills in 10 matches this season.

Senior Peggy Doino (Deer Park, N.Y.) paced the squad defensively as she tallied 18 digs. This season, Doino has recorded 15-or-more digs in eight of her 14 matches this season.

The Rams opened the match with a 25-23 victory in game one, but dropped the final three games 25-17, 25-22 and 25-22, respectively.

Rhode Island returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to Brown for a 7:00 p.m. matchup
