BROOKLINE, Mass. - The Rhode Island baseball team fell to Northeastern, 12-1, Monday afternoon at Friedman Diamond. Sophomore Jeff Cammans (Jamestown, R.I.) recorded the Rams' lone hit on the afternoon, doubling down the left field line in the top of the second inning.

Cammans went on to record his ninth stolen base of the season when he took third before scoring the first run of the game on an RBI ground out by redshirt freshman Dan Haverstick (Marlton, N.J.).

Rhody's lead was short-lived though, as the Huskies plated four runs in the bottom of the third and extended their lead to 10-1 after six innings. The Rams, meanwhile, failed to reach base after Cammans' second inning double.

Northeastern tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the eighth for the 12-1 win.

Junior starter Dan Rossignol (Nashua, N.H.) was charged with the loss, giving up six hits and five runs in four innings of work. Redshirt freshman Ross Davis (Bennington, N.H.) was responsible for the Huskies' next five runs while freshman Anthony Pisani (Revere, Mass.) and sophomore Cam Fox (Braintree, Mass.) gave up one apiece.

JT Ross took the win for Northeastern, tossing a complete-game one-hitter with 12 strikeouts.

Rhody returns to action on Tuesday afternoon when it hosts Sacred Heart at 3:30 p.m.
