Rams Defeated at William and Mary, 5-2

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Rhode Island baseball team dropped a 5-2 decision, Tuesday night at William and Mary. Sophomores Mike LeBel and Milan Adams each recorded a pair of hits for the Rams, as did senior Oliver Palmer.

LeBel put URI on the board in the top of the first as he led off with a base hit to right field, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by senior Zoey Angulo, took third on Palmer's single to right and crossed the plate on an RBI single by junior Tom Coulombe.

The Tribe took over the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third but Adams scored in the top of the seventh to tie things up at 2-2.

However, William and Mary plated three in the bottom of the frame to secure the 5-3 victory.

Senior starter Dan Rossignol gave up five hits and two runs over five innings while redshirt freshman reliever Rob Curran took the loss after allowing a pair of runs over 1.2 innings of work. John Farrell earned the win for William and Mary.

The Rams and Tribe return to Plumeri Park for a 7 p.m. game tomorrow night.
