Box Score
AMBLER, Pa. - Rhode Island junior
Kyle Borden went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored as the Rams fell to Temple, 8-4, on Sunday afternoon at Skip Wilson Field. The loss drops URI to 9-12 (2-1) while Temple moves to 3-16 (1-2).
The Owls jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first while allowing just one Rhody hit over the first two innings.
The Rams did, however, get on the board in the top of the third when senior Zoey Angulo scored on a fielder's choice play and Borden drove in two with his first homerun of the season. Temple came back though, and plated three of their own in the bottom of the frame to lead 4-3 after three complete innings.
A sac-fly by Angulo scored junior Evan Laude in the top of the fourth to even the score at four apiece, but that was as close as Rhody would get. TU went back on top in the bottom of the inning and before taking a two run lead in the fifth and stretching it to 8-4 in the bottom of the eighth.
The Rams are back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they return to Bill Beck Field to host Central Connecticut at 3:30 p.m.
