KINGSTON, R.I. - Senior Oliver Palmer went 3-for-3 with a pair of walks as the Rhode Island baseball team well to Northeastern, 4-2, on Wednesday afternoon at Bill Beck Field. The Huskies (13-28) opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth and held on to the 2-0 lead until the Rams evened it up in the bottom of the sixth.

Freshman Kyle Stenhouse got things started when he blasted the first pitch of the inning to deep right field for his first career homerun. Junior Adam Chickman and Burns followed with a pair of singles before senior Zoey Angulo and Palmer drew back-to-back walks to send Chickman across the plate and tie it up at 2-2.

Northeastern, however, went on to score twice more in the top of the seventh to take the 4-2 win.

As a team, Rhode Island stranded 12 base runners on the day and ended two innings with bases loaded.

Redshirt freshman Rob Curran took the loss for Rhody while Northeastern reliever Kevin Ferguson picked up the win.

The Rams return to Bill Beck Field on Thursday afternoon when they open up their final Atlantic 10 series of the regular season with a 3 p.m. game against George Washington. The Rams and Colonials will also play at 1 p.m. on Friday and again at Noon on Saturday.
