Complete BC Invitational results 
BOSTON -- The University of Rhode Island women's cross country team opened its 2010 season today at the Boston College Invitational at Franklin Park.
The Rams finished in ninth place overall, with a total of 217 points. Boston College won the meet, with a total of 31 points.
Brittany Pelsue was URI's top finisher, in 34th place. She covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 18:53. Caitrin Demchko was close behind, finishing in 37th place and a time of 18:56.
Mary Najarian was 53rd in a time of 19:26. Teammate Jordan Westcott finished in 64th place, clocking a time of 19:35. Niamh Ryan rounded out the Rhody scorers in 74th place, in a time of 19:56. The 1-5 spread for URI spanned just 1:03.
Newcomer Cassie Olsen was 96th (20:34), followed by Haley Mathewson (112th, 21:44), Alyssa Namey (114th, 22:10), Emilie Ptaszynski (22:28), Rebecca Wright (118th, 22:56), and Katrina Hines (23:23).
Rhode Island returns to action on Saturday, September 25 at the CCSU Invitational. Race time is 11:00 a.m.
