What It Means:
Rhode Island drops its season opener, 92-90, in overtime at George Mason as an Orion Outerbridgepotentially game-winning 3-pointer rattled in-and-out as time expired. URI has dropped its last two openers - last year at #5/4 Pittsburgh.

Inside the Box Score and Beyond:
* Jamal Wilson's38 points vs. the Patriots were an obvious career-high. Last season, it took Wilson 10 games to reach the 38-point mark.

* It's the highest point total since Dawan Robinson- also a Philadelphia product - had 37 points against Quinnipiac on Dec. 22, 2005.

* Freshman Mike Powellbecame the first true point guard to start a season-opener for the Rams since Tyson Wheeler did so in 1994-95. He tallied 11 points - including the first bucket of the ball game - to go along with six assists.

* Jonathan Holtonhad another solid Rhody debut, tallying a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

* The turnover problem that plagued Rhody during the two exhibition games carried over to the George Mason game. The Runnin' Ram committed 19 turnovers, including several costly miscues down the stretch.

* The free throw line was kind to the Rams tonight, as they connected on 24-of-31 from the stripe. Wilson was 11-of-12, while Holton was 7-of-10 and Mike Powella perfect 4-of-4.

* The 3-point arc was not as kind, as Rhody knocked down just 6-of-25 attempts from outside. The biggest 3-pointer of the game came from the hands of Holton, as his triple from the top of the key tied the game at 80-80 and forced the extra session.

* The two teams combined for a whopping 50 fouls and 59 free throw attempts.

* All five starters reached double-digits, as Nikola Malesevicadded 12 points before fouling out. Outerbridge chipped in with 11 points and seven boards.
