How It Happened
Dayton (10-10, 4-4) avenged last weekend's 3-2 loss at Rhode Island (10-12, 3-4) by downing the Rams 3-0 on their home court, Sunday afternoon. UD edged out URI, 25-23, in the first set before posting a 25-18 win in the second. The Rams took the first point of the third set, but Dayton evened it up at one apiece and did not trail the rest of the way.

Inside the Box Score

  • Sophomore Franki Darnold led the Rams with 14 kills and 11 digs. It marked the 18th time this season she totals double-digit kills and the 12th time she registers 10+ digs.
  • Senior Britta Baarstad and sophomore Lizzy Scanlon also finished with double-digit digs with 12 and 10, respectively.
  • Freshman Callan Kinnan put up a match-best 33 assists. She also had a pair of blocks, nine digs and recorded kills on each of her four attacks for a perfect hitting percentage.
  • As a team, Rhody had 41 kills to Dayton's 39, but the Rams also recorded 25 attack errors while Dayton had just 10.
  • The Flyers also had a significant edge in blocks, 13-4.

Stat of the Day
11 – Sophomore Franki Darnold recorded her team-leading 11th double-double of the season and fourth in the last five matches.

What's Next
The Rams return to action on Wednesday night when they host in-state rival Providence at 7 p.m.
