Rhode Island (12-12, 4-4 A-10) powered by George Mason in four sets, using a consistent attack to score a 25-17, 20-25, 25-12, 25-16 victory Friday night.
The Rams evened their record in conference play with the victory by posting a .358 hitting percentage as a team. Rhody had 56 kills and just 12 errors in the four sets. The offense, coupled with a sideout percentage of 62 percent (44-of-70 opportunities) allowed the Rams to secure a key victory as the team moved closer toward a spot in the Atlantic 10 Championship tournament.

- Freshman Layne Self became the first Ram since 2003 to reach 100 blocks in one season. Self had three blocks, giving her exactly 100 through 24 matches.
- Freshman Lena Vedder had a career-high 16 kills to lead the offense. Making the total more impressive was that it came in 25 attempts. She had just two errors, leading to a .560 attack percentage.
- Senior Jill Anderson had a match-best .668 hitting percentage, finishing with 12 kills and just one error in 16 attacks. The team captain added three block assists.
- Sophomore Franki Darnold also reached double digits in kill, adding 12 for the offense.
- Freshman Callan Kinnan had 38 assists for the second straight match. Kinnan added four service aces.
- Defensive specialists Lizzy Scanlon and Kalyn Schieffer both had double digits in digs. Scanlon had 15 while Schieffer added 10.
