Box Score

How It Happened
For the second time in eight days, Rhode Island (13-14, 5-5 A-10) was swept by the top team in the conference, losing 27-25, 25-17, 25-8 at VCU Sunday.

The Rams had two set points in the first set, holding the advantage at 24-23 and 25-24, but VCU (24-5, 10-1 A-10) was able to fight back both times, eventually coming all the way back to take the set. Rhode Island never held a lead the rest of the way. VCU led throughout the entire second set. Following a 1-1 tie to start the third set, VCU scored six straight points and cruised from there.
