Pelletier Sets Program Record, Paces Rams at New England Championship

The Rhode Island Women's Cross Country team finished 17th out of 38 teams at the New England Cross Country Championship. 

Sophomore Alexa Pelletier was the first Rhody runner to cross the finish line, finishing 4th in 17:42.18, which is the program's best mark ever at the Franklin Park venue. She also earned All-New England conference honors for finishing in the top 15.

She was followed by Alyssa Brehler who was 53rd, (18:33.48), Jackie Burr, 97th, (18:54.81), Lauren Columbare, 107th, (18:58.81), Courtney Hawkins, 187th (20:04.86), and Nicolette Pelrine, 201st, (20:17.01).

In addition to Lexi, Alyssa, Lauren and Nicolette all inproved on their times from the BC Battle in Beantown in September, which also took place at Franklin Park.

The team will compete next on Saturday, October 18 at the Princeton University Invitational in Princeton, NJ.
