How it Happened
For the second time in a week, Rhode Island (7-20) struggled to get going offensively against in-state rival Providence, falling 3-1 to the Friars Wednesday.
Providence (2-17) capitalized on two hit batters and an error in the top of the third as they scored two runs on just one hit. That lead was all the pitching duo of Kiara Amos and Taylor Huntly needed. Amos started and allowed one run on four hits in 3.2 innings. Huntly (1-11) came on and earned the win with 3.1 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief.
