KINGSTON, R.I.- The Rhode Island men's cross country team finished 12th out of 14 teams at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship meet. The Championship was hosted by Richmond University at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va.
Saint Joseph's captured the Championship crown with a team score of 77. UMass (98) and Davidson (103) rounded out the top three. Steven Flynn of George Mason University took home the individual title with a time of 24:21.1. To see the full list of results, visit the Championship Home Page.
Sophomore Alec Font was the top finisher for the Rams placing 86th overall with a time of 26:36.4.
Font was followed by, Alexander McGrainer (26:41.3, 90th) and Nicholas Celico (27:02.8, 103rd). The final two scorers for Rhody were Jacob Magiera who finished 105th overall clocking a time of 27:05.1 and Zach Campo who finished with a time of 27:21.2 good enough for 109th place.
The remaining finishers for Rhode Island were senior Thomas Fownes (27:39.6, 113th) and freshman Timothy Slack (27:42.9, 114th).
The Rams will return to competition on Nov. 13 when they return to Franklin Park in Boston, Mass to race in the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship.
