Rhode Island rallied from two sets down, but eventually fell in five sets at Davidson Friday night.
After dropping the first two sets by matching 25-21 scores, the Rams (18-8, 8-5 Atlantic 10), took the third set 26-24 and cruised in the fourth 25-14 to force the deciding fifth set.
Davidson (11-16, 5-8 A-10) scored the first two points of the final set. Rhody came right back with three points of its own, including a kill and an ace on back-to-back plays by senior Cate Seman. From there, it was all Davidson, as the Wildcats went on an 8-2 run to build a 10-5 lead.
Kills from Franki Darnold and Seman pulled the Rams within 10-7, but that was as close as it got. Davidson finished the match on Hannah Rau's 12th kill of the night.

- Franki Darnold finished with 20 kills, marking the seventh time this season she has had 20 or more in a match. Darnold has 402 kills for the season, marking the third straight season she has reached 400. She also had 17 digs for a double-double.
- Cate Seman had a strong night, recording 12 kills, 13 digs and two block assists. It was her second double-double of the season.
- Callan Kinnan topped 50 assists for the ninth time this season, finishing with 52. She added 15 digs for the double-double.
- Marie Gillcrist had 11 kills and five blocks in the middle.
- Audrey Castro was the fourth Ram in double digits with 13 kills to go with 11 digs and four assists.
Stat of the Day
4 – Four Rams had double-doubles Friday, as Darnold (20 kills, 17 digs), Seman (12 kills, 13 digs), Castro (13 kills, 11 digs) and Kinnan (52 assists, 15 digs) all did it.
