Men's Cross Country Places 12th at Atlantic 10 Championship

2016 Atlantic 10 Championship Final Results

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. - The Rhode Island men's cross country team finished 12th at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship, Saturday morning at Pole Green Park. The Rams competed the five-mile course in an average time of 26:22.

Dayton ran away with the team title, with a combined score of 57. Duquesne (77) and Saint Louis (85) rounded out the top three. 

Rico Galassi of Duquesne took home the individual title with a time of 24:32.3. 

Sophomore Timothy Slack was the top finisher for Rhode Island, placing 49th overall and completing the five mile course in 25:58.0. 

Slack was followed by, junior Alec Font (26:04.0, 54th) and sophomore Nicholas Celico (26:31.4, 79th). The final two scorers for Rhody were senior seniors Adam Thies (26:36.4, 83rd) and Alexander McGrainer (26:43.6, 89th). 

Freshmen Noah Schrank (27:10.2) and Joseph Maguire (27:28.9) also crossed the line for the Rams, but did not factor into the team scoring.
