An outstanding showing from Rhode Island's underclassmen led the Rams to a second place finish at the annual Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Invitational, hosted by Bryant University Saturday morning. Rhody's underclassmen captured five of the team's top seven spots.

The team's top five men finished within 34 seconds of each other, while the top seven scorers finished the race within a span of 59 seconds of one another. Leading URI was freshman Connor Gralton with a time of 26:31 in his collegiate debut over the 8000-meter, 4.97-mile course. Gralton ran strong and confidently the entire distance to finish in 12th place overall.
