How it Happened
- Rhode Island placed ninth among the field of 18 Division I teams at the annual CCSU Short Course race.
- Five of the six Rhody runners had personal bests over the 5000m course.
- Rhody's Atlantic 10 rival UMass claimed the team title as four of it's five scorers turned in top-15 finishes.
- Central Connecticut, Providence, Yale and Stony Brook rounded out the top-5.
The Finish Line
- Senior Alec Font was Rhody's top finisher, claiming 19th place in a time of 15:33.2.
- Freshman Matthew Vinacco crossed the line in 16:04.9, good for a 52nd-place finish.
- Sophomore Brian Coyne was next, clocking in at 16:18.4 and taking 59th place.
- Freshman Daniel Ruggiero finished 70th overall, finishing the race in 16:29.7.
- Sophomore Nicolas Musumeci was Rhody's final scorer, finishing 72nd overall in 16:29.9.
- Senior Charles McLaughlin was the final Ram to cross the line, clocking in at 17:01.8 for an 87th-place finish.
