How it Happened
Rhode Island (9-10, 2-0 A-10) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second as Matt O'Neil led off with a four-pitch walk and Mike Corin was hit in the first pitch of his at-bat. Brett McManus then doubled to drive in O'Neil and move Corin to third base. After a Laurence Hill foul out, Mike Foley's single to first scored Corin and Kevin Heiss followed with a sac-bunt that pushed across McManus to give the Rams an early advantage.

Martin Figueroa added to the lead in the top of the third, sending a solo shot over the right-center wall to put the Rams up 4-0. Foley then scored on an RBI single by Powell in the top of the fifth to make it 5-0 Rhody.

Davidson (11-10, 2-3 A-10) got a run back in the bottom of the fifth and tacked on three more in the sixth to cut the deficit to one at 5-4. The Wildcats then pulled ahead in the bottom of the seventh on a two-out, two-run homer by Will Robertson.

Corin returned the favor in the top of the ninth however, sending a two-run shot out of the park for the 7-6 Rhode Island victory.
