How it Happened
The Rams (10-10, 3-0 A-10) matched their season best with 13 hits and put up a season-high nine runs as they completed the three-game Atlantic 10 series sweep of Davidson, Sunday afternoon at Wilson Field.

Rhode Island wasted no time putting the game out of reach, scoring the only runs it would need in the top of the first inning. Leadoff hitter Chris Hess first got on base when he was hit by an 0-2 pitch. He then crossed the plate on a double by Martin Figueroa. A Jordan Powell single, followed by a Matt O'Neil walk, then set up Mike Corin's second home run of the series - a grand slam that put the Rams on top 5-0.

Hess and Figueroa then led off the the second with back-to-back doubles before scoring on a sacrifice fly by O'Neil and a base hit by Corin, respectively.

Rhody pushed it to 8-0 in the top of the fourth - when O'Neil singled down the left field line to drive in Figueroa - and then moved ahead 9-0 in the fifth, on a Kevin Heiss sac-fly that plated Brett McManus.

Davidson (11-11, 2-4 A-10) scored its lone run of the game with two away in the bottom of the ninth as Jake Sidwell crossed the plate on a Rhody error to spoil the shutout victory for the Rams.
