How it Happened
St. Bonaventure (12-10, 6-4 A-10) extended its win streak to five consecutive games while Rhode Island (14-12, 5-1 A-10) dropped its first Atlantic 10 game of the season Saturday afternoon in Olean, N.Y.

The Bonnies took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning but a solo shot by Matt O'Neil evened things up at one apiece in the top of the fourth. Aaron Phillips' second RBI single of the game then put SBU up 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth.

St. Bonaventure padded its lead with a two-run, sixth-inning shot from TJ Baker that put the home team up 4-1. After a walk and an infield single, Blaise Whitman replaced Nick Johnson on the mound and got an inning-ending strikeout to limit the damage.

An O'Neil single in the top of the eighth then plated Jordan Powell and made it a 4-2 game, but the Bonnies added another in the bottom of the frame for the eventual 5-2 win.
