How it Happened
Errors were the difference in the rubber game of the series between St. Bonaventure (13-11, 7-5 A-10) and Rhode Island (15-13, 6-2 A-10) as the Bonnies won 7-2 with each of their seven runs being unearned.

With two away in the bottom of the fourth, St. Bonaventure's Aaron Phillips hit a low liner to shortstop, which Laurence Hill appeared to have caught. However, the umpire ruled the ball to have hit the ground first, forcing Hill to rush the throw to first base. Brett McManus was unable to make the pick on the errant throw, allowing David Vaccaro to cross the plate for the first run of the game. Back-to-back singles then made it 2-0 SBU before a hit-by-pitch loaded the bases to set up Ryan MacCarrick's grand slam that gave the Bonnies a 6-0 advantage.

The Rams got a pair back in the top of the fifth as Laurence Hill and Chris Hess both crossed the plate on a two-out single by Jordan Powell, but St. Bonaventure capitalized on another Rhode Island error in the bottom of the seventh to make it a 7-2 ballgame.

Rhody rallied in the top of the ninth with runs by Justin Jewell, Brett McManus and Mike Foley, but a bases-loaded fly out by Mike Corin ended URI's chance to complete the comeback.
