How it Happened
Rhode Island fell 62-61 at St. Bonaventure after a last-second shot lifted the Bonnies over the Rams Thursday night.
The Bonnies (8-18, 5-8 A-10) jumped to an early 10-5 lead by the first media timeout. Rhody (7-18, 2-11 A-10) was able to force St. Bonaventure into a timeout after scoring six unanswered points to cut the lead to one (14-13) with 1:06 remaining in the first quarter. The Rams tied it at 14 after a good free throw shot by Nicole Jorgensen to end the period knotted at 14. The Bonnies outscored the Rams 17-16 in the second to regain the lead going in to the locker room up 31-30.
A Laura Perez fast break layup followed by a 3-pointer by Maia Moffitt pushed the Rhody lead to six at the 3:41 mark in the third (44-38). St. Bonaventure tied it at 46 after a successful trip to the free throw line by Asianae Johnson with 1:21 remaining in the period.
In the fourth, the Bonnies extended their lead to eight (54-46) after to a Deja Francis layup. The Rams finally responded with an Erin Jones 3-pointer at 5:50 in the quarter to cut the lead to five (54-49). The rest of play was back and fourth, however Rhody answered as Jorgensen scored eight consecutive points. Her layup with 12 seconds remaining put the Rams up one (61-60), but a layup from Johnson off an inbound pass with 1.1 seconds on the clock sealed the 62-61 victory for the Bonnies.

- Junior Nicole Jorgensen had a game-high 23 points on 9-of-14 from the field. She added 11 rebounds for her 17th career double-double.
- Redshirt junior Elemy Colome added 12 points, while classmate Davida Dale added seven points, four assists, and three rebounds.
- Junior Erin Jones was the third Ram in double figures, scoring 10 to go with six rebounds.
- The Rams had their best shooting percentage in six games, going 44% (24-of-54).
