How it Happened
Rhode Island won its seventh straight contest with a 78-64 victory at George Mason Tuesday night.

The Rams were in control throughout, leading for more than 38 minutes. Rhode Island systemically built a 10-point lead by halftime, using strong ball movement and defense to create an efficient offense. The Rams were 14-of-27 from the floor, as six players combined for nine assists. Tyrese Martin led the balanced attack with 12 points, while Antwan Walker had eight and Fatts Russell added seven. Rhody also held George Mason to 11-of-29 from the floor, including 1-of-8 from 3-point range.

In the second half, George Mason briefly cut the lead to single digits. A turnaround jumper by Jordan Miller trimmed URI's to 59-51, but Jeff Dowtin responded with a jumper of his own and two free throws to immediately get the advantage back to 12 points.

The Rams maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way, coasting to their seventh Atlantic 10 win.
