How it Happened
Trailing 13-1 after four innings of play, Rhode Island used a six-run fifth to get back in it. Jackson Coutts and Xavier Vargas each crossed the plate on back-to-back a fielder's choice plays, and Austin White followed with a walk to load the bases with two away. Alex Ramirez then drew a walk to push across Greg Cavaliere and make it a 13-4 game.

After an Arizona pitching change, a balk moved all runners forward a base, allowing Sonny Ulliana to cross the plate. Pinch-hitter Tino Salgado then delivered a two-run single to cut the deficit to 13-7.

The Wildcats got two of those runs back in the bottom of the fifth, but the Rams continued to chip away, putting three more runs on the board in their next trip to the plate. Coutts scored on an infield single by Cavaliere, Vargas scored on a bases-loaded walk to Ulliana and Alex Ramirez sent a sacrifice fly into right field to plate Cavaliere, making it Arizona 15, Rhode Island 10.

The Wildcats countered again though, tacking on two more runs in the sixth before adding single runs in the seventh and eighth for the eventual 19-10 win.
