How it Happened
Rhode Island dismantled Delaware State in a 23-5 victory Saturday afternoon.

The Rams (6-5) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first, thanks in part to back-to-back homers by Greg Cavaliere and Jackson Coutts. Rhody pushed it to 7-0 before the Hornets got on the board with a four-run bottom of the second.

Three addition Rhody runs in the fourth, followed by four more in the fifth, effectively put the game away before the Rams erupted for a nine-run sixth.

Delaware State (4-8) managed to score one more run in the bottom of the seventh, but the gap was too wide to close as URI cruised to the 23-5 victory.
