How it Happened
The bottom of Rhode Island's lineup had a big offensive day to help the Rams play to a 7-7 tie at Bryant Wednesday. The game was called after 10 innings due to darkness.

Rhode Island's 8-9 hitters, Alex Ramirez and Greg Cavaliere, combined for six hits, two walks and five runs scored. The Rams (9-7-1) remained unbeaten in Rhode Island, as they are 6-0-1 within the state borders.

Bryant (5-7-1) got on the board with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. JP Knight delivered a two-out, two-run single to drive in Liam McGill and D Smith for the early lead.

Rhody came right back in the top of the second. Tommy Cartnick walked, Alex Ramirez singled and Greg Cavaliere walked to load the bases with one out. Austin White singled to left to drive in Cartnick and Ramirez, tying the score, 2-2.

Another two-run rally for the Rams gave them the lead in the top of the fourth. Ramirez reached on an error. Singles by Cavaliere and White loaded the bases, and Addison Kopack lofted a sacrifice fly to left field to bring Ramirez home. A double steal put Cavaliere and White in scoring position, and Josh Brodeur produced the second sacrifice fly of the inning to drive in Cavaliere and make it 4-2.

White made it a three-run game with an RBI single in the fifth inning, but Bryant rallied to tie the score. The Bulldogs scored twice in the home half of the sixth, getting RBI singles from Tommy DiTullio and Matt Woods to pull within one run. In the seventh inning, James Ciliento doubled, advanced to third on a flyout and scored on a wild pitch to tie the game.

Rhode Island retook the lead with two runs in the ninth inning. Ramirez led off with a single, Cavaliere followed with a double and White was intentionally walked to load the bases. Kopack chopped a grounder to third, and a throwing error to the plate allowed Ramirez to score the go-ahead run. Brodeur drove in Cavaliere with a single to right field to provide an insurance run and give the Rams a 7-5 lead.

Woods was hit by a pitch to lead off the bottom of the ninth for Bryant. He advanced to second on a wild pitch and moved to third on a groundout. Ciliento drove him in with a groundout, leaving Rhode Island one out from the win. However, Jake Gustin walked and moved to second on a passed ball. McGill got a grounder through the left side for a single, allowing Gustin to come around and tie the game.

In the top of the 10th Rhode Island loaded the bases with two outs, as Cavaliere doubled and White and Kopack were walked. However, a groundout ended the threat. Bryant went down 1-2-3 in the home half, and the game was called due to darkness.
