How It Happened
For the first time in 15 years, a visiting team won the team title outright at the 2022 Harold Anderson Invitational.

Over the course of the three-day event, Vermont won nine individual events and all five relay races to steadily pull away from the field. The Catamounts topped the seven-team standings with 853 points, followed by Rhode Island (756) and Holy Cross (636).

Last year, Rhode Island and Vermont tied for the team title. Before that, URI had won the meet every year dating back to 2007.

Standouts from the Pool

• Ella Hacker scored 15 points with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly. A sixth-place finish from Jenna Salem and an eighth from Jackie Triglia gave Rhody 39 points for its best result of the day in the individual events.
• Maddie Tetreault gave Rhody a third-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle with her time of 17:37.81. Rylee Kelly added a fifth-place finish in the event and Sydney Joyce placed 13th as the trio combined for 35 points.
• Julia Renna and Tetreault were fifth and seventh, respectively, in the 200-yard backstroke. Kelsey McMenemy was 12th in the event as URI scored 31 team points.
• Jordynn Brown was fifth, Abby Zadorozny 10th and Lyndsay Warner 12th in the 100-yard freestyle to give URI 21 points.
• Emily Makin was fifth, Hannah Benavides eighth and Aimee Garcia 12 th in the 200-yard breaststroke for 30 team points.

What's Next
Rhode Island is off until Saturday, Dec. 3 when it hosts fellow Atlantic 10 school La Salle. The meet begins at 11 a.m.
