- By contrast, Rhode Island is looking to snap a three-game skid that began at Boston College on Nov. 27.
- Army is the second-highest scoring team in the Patriot League, averaging 78.8 points per game. The Black Knights also allow 73.6 points per game, which is the second most in the league we well.
- Army and Colgate are the only two programs to finish in the top five of the Patriot League in each of the last four seasons.
FREEMAN FINDING THE HANDLE ON OFFENSE
- Sophomore guard Brayon Freeman matched his season high with four assists Wednesday against Brown, and he was a major reason the Rams has a positive assist-turnover ratio for the second straight contest.
- Over his last five games, Freeman has 13 assists and eight turnovers.
- In his first three games, he had one assist and seven turnovers.
- With Freeman settling more into the ball handler role, Rhode Island has shot .461 (53-of-115) from the field as a team over its last two games.
- Over the first seven games of the year, the Rams did not shoot better than .443 from the field.
- Freeman also has scored in double figures in six consecutive games, boosting his season scoring average to 12.9 points per game.
PERIMETER IS NO-COMFORT ZONE FOR FOES
- Head coach Archie Miller has stressed all season that the Rams need to hang their hat on the defensive end of the floor.
- While the team has struggled with its interior defense, (opponents average 30.0 points/game in the paint), Rhode Island makes life difficult from the perimeter.
- Opposing teams are shooting just .277 from 3-point range.
- Only one opponent - Kansas State - has even shot better than .350 from the arc. The Wildcats were 7-of-16 from deep (.438).
- Rhode Island's other eight opponents shot a combined 41-for-157 (.261) from the arc.
