Rhode Island vs. Connecticut
- Friday's series opener will be the 200th game between Rhode Island and Connecticut.
- Rhody is 79-116-4 in the all-time series.
- The Rams have played more games against UConn than any other opponent.
- Respectively, UMass (191 games) and Brown (165 games) are URI's second- and third-most frequently played opponents.
Rhode Island (2-16)
- As a team, the Rams are hitting .198, fielding .946 and have a combined ERA of 8.25.
- Grad transfer Jack Cucinotta leads the team total hits (18) and has an active hitting streak of six games.
- Freshman Anthony DePino has homered in five of Rhody's last seven games and leads the team with six round-trippers overall.
- DePino – who has reached base in each of the last nine games – leads the team in walks (9), slugging (.644) and on-base percentage (.366), and ranks second in RBI (11), runs scored (11). Ten of his 16 hits this season have been for extra bases.
- Redshirt sophomore Addison Kopack has reached base in nine of Rhody's last 10 games. In last weekend's series against Bryant, he hit .455 with two doubles, two home runs, seven runs scored and four driven in.
- Freshman Eric Genther has driven in a team-best 16 runs.
- Fifth-year senior Xavier Vargas was hitting .357 through eight games played before being sidelined by an injury.
- Similarly, senior Billy Butler homered in his first at-bat of the season – in the top of the first inning in the season-opener at William & Mary – and then became injured in the bottom of the inning. He has not played since.
- Freshman Ryan Andrade made his first career start last weekend and has appeared in four games overall. He owns a 0.69 ERA and has allowed just four hits through 13.0 innings of work. Opponents are hitting just .100 off of him.
- Junior Broc French has made a team-leading nine appearances out of the bullpen and owns a 2.89 ERA. He is credited with both Rhode Island wins so far this season.

- The Huskies enter the series ranked in three of the six national polls – Perfect Game (#18), D1Baseball.com (#25) and Collegiate Baseball (#26). They also received votes in the most recent USA Today (#4) and NCBWA polls.
