How it Happened
Back-to-back second inning doubles by T.C. Simmons and Matt Donlan gave UConn an early 1-0 advantage, but the Rams tied the score in their next trip to the plate when Alex Ramirez scored on a groundout by Eric Genther.

Erik Stock's solo shot in the bottom of the frame put UConn up 2-1, and the Huskies added an insurance run in the fourth, and another in the fifth, for the eventual 4-1 win.

Inside the Box Score

  • Freshman Eric Genther doubled twice and drove in a run.
  • Redshirt senior Jordan Laske had a pair of base hits for URI. He finished the series against UConn 5-for-11 (.455).
  • Sophomore Trystan Levesque took the loss, allowing three runs on nine hits over a 5.0-inning start. He also recorded six strikeouts.
