How it Happened
Back-to-back second inning doubles by T.C. Simmons and Matt Donlan gave UConn an early 1-0 advantage, but the Rams tied the score in their next trip to the plate when
Alex Ramirez scored on a groundout by
Eric Genther.
Â
Erik Stock's solo shot in the bottom of the frame put UConn up 2-1, and the Huskies added an insurance run in the fourth, and another in the fifth, for the eventual 4-1 win.
