How it Happened
Rhody jumped out to a 1-0 lead on the top of the first when
Jack Cucinotta scored on a two-out single by
Jordan Laske.
Â
The Rams stretched it to 3-0 in the top of the third as Cucinotta doubled to lead off the inning and was later driven in by
Addison Kopack, who then crossed the plate on a double by
Eric Genther.
Â
A solo homerun by Alex Lane got Bryant on the board in the bottom of the frame before a three-run fourth inning gave the Bulldogs their first lead of the game at 4-3.
Â
Rhody came back and tied the score at 4-4 in the top of the fifth when
Alex Ramirez scored on a triple by Genther, but that was the last time the game was close. In the bottom of the inning, Bryant combined three Rhode Island errors with a walk, a hit batter, two doubles and a homerun to go up 11-4.
Â
A two-run, seventh-inning homer by John Tuccillo sealed the Bulldogs' 13-4 victory.
