How it Happened
Trailing 4-1 after three innings, Rhody came back and evened the score in the bottom of the fourth. Eric Genther got things started with a leadoff walk, and advanced to third on a base hit by Anthony DePino. A sacrifice fly by Joe Fortin then allowed Genther to cross the plate and cut the Billikens lead in half. Justin Cherry then delivered a two-run homer to right field to even the score at four apiece.

Saint Louis quickly got back on top however, thanks to a fifth inning solo shot by Cam Redding.

Rhody tied the score once more in the bottom of the seventh as Fortin singled up the middle with two away, advanced to second on a wild pitch and then scored on an RBI single by Jordan Laske.

SLU again reclaimed the lead in its next trip to the plate as Redding doubled down the left field like to drive in Cameron Swanger. DePino responded with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth to make it a 7-6 game, but the Billikens piled on five more runs in the ninth for the 12-6 victory.
