How it Happened
Rhode Island (4-4, 3-2 CAA Football) lost its second straight game and fell to .500 overall in a 35-10 result at UAlbany on Saturday.
The host Great Danes (5-3, 4-1 CAA Football) used several big plays to explode for 28 first-half points, putting the contest away early. UAlbany scored a touchdown on the opening drive of the game. Griffen Woodell broke off a 44-yard run down the left sideline to set up first-and-goal at the URI 2-yard line. He scored on the next snap, giving the Great Danes an early 7-0 lead. After a URI punt, UAlbany came right back and scored again on a Reese Poffenbarger 10-yard touchdown pass to Julian Hicks, doubling the lead to 14-0.
Poffenbarger added an 85-yard touchdown pass to Hicks to tack on seven more points with just 1:51 to go in the half. Just 76 seconds later, Poffenbarger hit Brevin Easton for an 83-yard touchdown to send the teams into the half with a 28-3 score.

Jaden Griffin scored on a 6-yard run midway through the third quarter, Rhode Island was already down by 32 points. Griffin's effort capped the scoring.
