RHODE ISLAND VS. FAIRFIELD - SERIES NOTES

• Rhode Island and Fairfield have met five times, with URI winning all of the previous games.
• The teams last met in 2009, an 89-84 win in the Ryan Center.
• In that contest, Fairfield had 24 assists as a team, the most ever by a visiting program in the Ryan Center.
• Fairfield fell 89-70 at Boston College in its season opener Monday night.
• Brycen Goodine scored 22 and Michael Rogan added 18 for the Stags against BC.
• Fairfield was picked to finish sixth in the MAAC preseason poll. 

HOUSE SHOWS SCORING ABILITY IN OPENER

• Guard Jaden House scored 25 points in his Rhode Island debut.
• It was the fifth time in his collegiate career House has scored 25 or more points in a game.
• He has scored 20 or more points 16 times and has reached double digits 54 times.
• He has a 10-game streak of double-digit scoring dating back to last season while he was with High Point.
• A big, physical guard, House was a 1,000-point scorer before he arrive in Kingston, netting 1,002 points in three seasons at High Point.
• He averaged 17.3 points per game last season, which ranked third in the Big South. 
• Capable of getting to the free throw line, he shot 207 free throws in 30 games in 2022-23, an average of 6.9 attempts per game.  Against CCSU on Monday, House was 4-for-5 at the line.
• A two-time Big South Player of the Week, House earned all-conference honorable mention in 2022-23.

IMPRESSIVE DEBUT FOR FUCHS

• Freshman David Fuchs scored 10 points and had four rebounds in the season-opening win over CCSU.
• It was the first time a freshman scored in double figures in their collegiate debut for the Rams since Jacob Toppin had 11 points and seven rebounds against LIU in to open the 2019-20 season.
• Physically mature, Fuchs has significant experience in European professional leagues, playing for Ratiopharm Ulm and OrangeAcademy in Germany. 
• In 24 games for Ratiopharm Ulm last season, he averaged 3.0 points and 2.0 rebounds while shooting 53.3 percent from the field. 
• Over the last two years, Fuchs played in 36 games for OrangeAcademy, averaging 16.1 points and 7.8 rebounds last season, up from 9.0 points and 2.8 rebounds two years ago.
