KINGSTON, R.I. - After the cancelation of its game against Boston College freed up the team's schedule, Rhode Island Baseball has added a midweek date with No. 10 Connecticut. The Rams will travel to Dunkin' Donuts Park, home of the Hartford Yard Goats, to face off against the Huskies at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25. It will be Rhode Island's first neutral site game of the season as well as its first time playing at the ballpark of the Colorado Rockies' Double-A affiliate since 2019.

Following the game against the Huskies, Rhody will return home for its 3 p.m. game against Hartford on Wednesday, April 26.

RHODE ISLAND VS. CONNECTICUT - SERIES NOTES

  • The history between Rhode Island and Connecticut spans over 120 years and includes 200+ games.
  • Tuesday night's clash will be the 203rd in the history between the sides, which dates back to 1896.
  • The Huskies are up 118-80-4 over the Rams all-time, though that includes a slim 3-2 advantage over the programs' last five meetings.
  •  Rhode Island took one-of-three in a weekend series a season ago, winning the middle game 6-2.
  • Sophomore Anthony DePino homered twice to help the Rams take down then-No. 18 Connecticut at Bill Beck Field.
  • The Rams won by nearly the same score in 2021, defeating UConn 6-4 on the road in Storrs.
  • Junior Trystan Levesque played a crucial role in the victory, tossing 3.0 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.

RHODE ISLAND VS. HARTFORD - SERIES NOTES

  • Rhode Island will face off against Hartford for the 33rd time in program history on Wednesday afternoon at Bill Beck Field.
  • After first playing each other in 1986, the Rams have gone on to earn a 20-12 advantage over the Hawks.
  • Rhody is currently on a three-game win streak in its matchups with Hartford, which dates back to the 2017 campaign.
  • The Rams have outscored the Hawks 34-22 in that stretch, highlighted by a 10-2 victory in 2018 that marked the 100th of head coach Raphael Cerrato's career.
  • Hartford is currently not in a conference, as the University announced last year that it will be reclassifying from an NCAA Division I institution to NCAA Division III.
  • The 2022-23 is the last season that the team will compete as an NCAA Division I school. This fall, the school will join the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC).

MIDWEEK MASHING

  • Rhode Island's offense has played a big role in its midweek victories this year.
  • Three different Rams are hitting over .330 in the contests, an effort that is led by redshirt junior Alex' Ramirez clip of .421.
  • Both redshirt junior Addison Kopack and redshirt sophomore Rob Butler are also above the mark, at .381 and .333 respectively.
  • Rhode Island hitters have left the park on five separate occasions in midweek games, with five different Rams contributing to the effort.
  • The Rams' bats were hot in their midweek outings a season ago, as the team combined for 75 total runs scored in nine games for an average of 8.3 a day.
  • Each of the team's four midweek victories in 2022 saw the Rams score 10-or-more runs, which included a season-high 27 runs at Holy Cross on April 13.
