2023-24 Men's Basketball Conference Pairings Announced

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island will visit four of the top five team teams from last season's final standings as part of the 2023-24 Atlantic 10 schedule. The league announced the conference pairings Thursday afternoon.

The conference schedule features four home-and-home series, plus five individual games at home and on the road for every team in the conference. This gives each school an 18-game slate for A-10 play.

Rhode Island's four home-and-home series will be with Fordham, George Mason, La Salle and Massachusetts.

The Rams will host Duquesne, Loyola Chicago, Richmond, Saint Joseph's and Saint Louis. When Loyola comes to town, it will mark the first visit to Kingston for the Ramblers. Last season, URI won 79-77 at Loyola in the first meeting between the programs.

URI will hit the road for games at Davidson, Dayton, George Washington, St. Bonaventure and 2022-23 league champion VCU.

The way the pairings broke, Rhode Island will have road games against four of the top five teams from last season's standings. VCU was both the regular-season and A-10 tournament champion. Dayton and Fordham were the second- and third-place finishers, respectively. George Mason was the fifth-place finisher a year ago.

Second-place Fordham and fourth-place Saint Louis are the top finishers from last season who will visit the Ryan Center this season.

Dates and tip times for all conference games will be announced at a later date. The earliest possible date for conference play is Jan. 3, 2024.
