SHILLING NAMED TO YALE INVITATIONAL ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

  • Graduate student Gabrielle Shilling had a solid weekend for Rhode Island, earning All-Tournament Team honors at the Yale Invitational.
  • Over the course of three matches, Shilling had 25 kills and 11 block assists while playing middle blocker.
  • She also had just six attack errors during the tournament. 
  • On Saturday against Sacred Heart, she recorded the 240th block of her career.
  • Shilling now ranks eighth among all players during the rally point era (2001-present).

OWENS OFFERING CONSISTENCY FOR RAMS

  • Junior Andrea Owens leads the team in total kills (72), kills per set (2.25) and points (84.0).
  • She is second on the team behind libero Hannah Blaney in digs (75) and digs per set (2.34). Blaney has 106 digs and averages 3.21 per set.
  • Owens is coming off her second double-double of the season, setting season highs in both kills (13) and digs (12) in a four-set loss to Sacred Heart.
  • Over her last four matches, Owens has 39 kills and 47 digs. 
  • She has 10 or more digs in each of the last four contests.
