How It Happened
St. Bonaventure controlled the game from start to finish, saddling Rhode Island with a 99-64 defeat Wednesday night.
The Rams (9-8, 3-1 Atlantic 10) saw their modest four-game win streak come to an end with their first Atlantic 10 loss of the season.
St. Bonaventure (11-5, 2-2 A-10) scored 51 points in a dominant first half, with 21 of the points coming off 13 URI turnovers. Charles Pride scored 14 of his game-high 25 points and Daryl Banks III added 10 before the break. Rhode Island's defense had no answers, as the Bonnies shot 59.5 percent from the field and had 26 points in the paint.
It didn't get better in the second half. St. Bonaventure built its lead to as many as 45 points and coasted to the victory.
