PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Rhode Island dropped three doubles matches and six singles matches against a mix of opponents from Boston College and Yale on Friday, the opening day of the Bruno Classic, hosted by Brown.
 
Senor Klara Nelander and junior Sophie Herrman played a competitive doubles match, falling 7-5 to Yale's Angela Huang and Sophia Zaslow.

Each of the singles matches were decided in straight sets. Freshman Grace Darcy had a strong showing against BC's Alex Torre, 6-4, 7-6 (3).

Rhode Island will match up against players from Dartmouth Saturday morning. There are no team results for the three-day event, just individual results.
