Each match at the tournament is a best-of-seven format. Play begins with doubles matches, with teams playing three matches. The first team two win two of the doubles matches earns the team point.
That is followed by six singles matches, each of which is worth one team point. Once either team reaches four points, play is stopped.
Rhode Island has won one match at each of the last three A-10 championships. The Rams have never faced George Mason at the conference tournament. Last season, the teams played in Fairfax, Va. with URI winning 4-0.
