KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's cross country team finished 23rd out of 39 teams at the NCAA Division I Northeast Regional Championship on Friday morning.
Rhody's competition at the 6000-meter course on the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Contoocook, N.H. was led by
Lily Saul, who finished 114th overall. She was closely followed by teammate
Sofia Piccone, who crossed the finish line about five seconds behind for 125th place.Â
This was URI's first time competing at the event since 2022. That year, the Rams finished 29th out of 37 teams.Â
