KINGSTON, R.I. - Behind a pair of top-50 individual finishes, the Rhode Island women's cross country team finished eighth at the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday morning.
Sofia Piccone led the Rams on the 6000m course in Mechanicsville, Va., crossing the line in 21:26.9 to place 25th overall. She was closely followed by
Lily Saul, who finished 28th in 21:32.5.
Linsey Arends finished just outside of the top 50, coming across at the 22:03.9. mark for 59th-place.

Alison Pankowicz,
Sophia DiMuccio and Hailey LaRose also scored for URI.
The team improved its standing from a year ago by four slots, moving up from 12th place in 2023. Rhody was behind Richmond and ahead of Saint Louis in the team standings.
