VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. — Rhode Island men's track and field had a strong start to the 2024 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championship, collecting 57 points in five events scored on day one.

- Derek Chalmers had a leap of 24' 2" for first place in the long jump. The mark is second-best all-time.
Highlights from Competition
In the Heptathlon
- Devin Donahue leads all competitors in the heptathlon with 2983 points after four events scored. He was second in the long jump (21' 6.50"), first in the shot put (48' 5"), third in the high jump (5' 11.50"), and first in the 60m (7.09s).
- Ryan Tona is second after collecting 2900 points. He finished first in the long jump (22' 4.75"), second in the shot put (41' 7"), second in the high jump (6' 2"), and fourth in the 60m (7.29s).
- Damian Scouloukas rounds out the Rams with 2504 points for fifth place. He was third in the long jump (20' 11.50"), seventh in the shot put (32' 5.75"), sixth in the high jump (5' 10.25") and fifth in the 60m (7.44s),
