How it Happened
Rhode Island Baseball was shut out by Quinnipiac, 4-0, on Tuesday afternoon on the Bobcats' home field.

Rhody (5-13) struggled to gain any momentum offensively, recording just two hits throughout nine innings while the Bobcats (6-15) scratched their runs across on eight knocks.

Quinnipiac had a pair of one-run innings in the first and sixth and hung a crooked number in the fifth. An RBI single drove in a pair of Bobcats in that frame, while another RBI single in the first and a sac fly in the sixth accounted for the other scores.

Rhode Island left a runner on base in each of the final five frames.

  • Both redshirt freshman Will Hindle (1-for-2) and junior Brody McKenzie (1-for-2) recorded singles. They were also hit by pitches and stole one base apiece.
  • Freshman Reece Moroney, graduate student DJ Perron and junior Anthony DePino drew walks to reach base safely.
  • Rhody batters struck out just four times, tying their season low.
  • Sophomore Connor Johnston threw two scoreless innings and fanned one batter.
