RHODE ISLAND VS. GEORGE MASON - SERIES NOTES

  • Wednesday's game will be the 15th all time between Rhode Island and George Mason, and the second meeting this season.
  • George Mason won the first meeting, 92-84, on Jan. 27. That result evened the all-time series, 7-7.
  • Baraka Okojie and Keyshawn Hall combined for 29 of George Mason's 52 second-half points in the first meeting between the teams, as the Patriots outscored URI by 10 points after halftime.
  • Darius Maddox (24), Hall (22), Okojie (18) and Amari Kelly (17) scored all but 11 of George Mason's points in the game.
  • Rhode Island's David Green scored a career-high 29 points in the first meeting to lead all scorers. He also set a career high with six 3-point baskets.
  • Rhode Island had 13 3-pointers in the game. In addition to the six by Green, Cam Estevez made four while scoring a 15 points.
  • George Mason has won three straight in the series, including a 79-72 win in the Ryan Center last season.
  • The teams have split eight meetings in Kingston all time.
  • Rhode Island comes into the game trying to snap a six-game losing streak, while George Mason is trying to snap a three-game skid of its own.

FOUR TO BE HONORED ON SENIOR NIGHT

  • Wednesday's game is the last one in the Ryan Center for four members of the men's basketball program.
  • Forward Josaphat Bilau is the lone player being recognized in the pregame ceremony.
  • A native of France, Bilau spent the last two years with Rhode Island.
  • He averaged 5.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for the Rams despite battling through injuries throughout his time in Kingston.
  • Bilau completed his bachelor's degree in Communications in December.
  • Three team managers also will be honored Wednesday.
  • Jack Buchan, John McKeown and Brian Martinez have all worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help the program with its day-to-day operations.
  • Buchan, a native of Norton, Mass., and McKeown, from Canton, Mass., have both been with the program for the last four years. Martinez is a Providence, R.I. native who also works with the Rhode Island Magic AAU program

RAMS DRASTICALLY IMPROVED FROM THE ARC

  • One area that Rhode Island has significantly improved this season is its 3-point shooting, where the Rams are hitting .362 as a team for the year.
  • That would be the ninth-best single-season mark in program history.
  • Last season, Rhode Island shot .304 from the arc.
  • It is the highest team 3-point percentage since 2015-16, when the Rams shot .365 from the arc.
  • Rhode Island ranks 67th in the country and sixth in the Atlantic 10 with its .362 3-point percentage.
  • Three times this season Rhody has made at least 11 3-pointers in a game, including last time out against Saint Louis. The Rams had 11 against the Billikens, 13 at George Mason on Jan. 27 and a season-best 14 against Massachusetts on Jan. 13.
  • With 196 made 3-point shots thus far, Rhode Island needs 17 more to crack the program's top 10 single season list. The team had 213 in 105-16.
  • The URI record is 258 during the 1997-98 campaign.
