How it Happened
Saint Joseph's exploded for seven runs over the final two innings to turn a close game into an 11-3 victory over Rhode Island in the finale of a three-game series Sunday afternoon.

For URI (11-18, 4-5 Atlantic), the loss snapped a five-game winning streak.

The visiting Hawks (13-18, 4-5 A-10) took advantage of wild pitching in the top of the second. A single and four walks produced the first two runs of the game. With two outs and runners on first and second, a Brandon Drapeau single drove in Tim Dickinson with the first run of the day. Back-to-back walks to Max Hitman and Conlan Wall then forced in Justin Igoe to make it 2-0.

An inning later, Igoe's two-out single to left center brought in Owen Petrich to extend the lead to 3-0.

Rhody got on the board in the fourth when DJ Perron brought Eric Genther in with a sacrifice fly. Genther drove in URI's second run with an RBI groundout that plated Reece Moroney in the seventh to make the score 4-2.

That was as close as the Rams got, as Saint Joseph's scored three times in the eighth and four more in the ninth to put the game away.
