How it Happened
Rhode Island secured a series win over Dayton with a 16-10 victory on Saturday morning.

The game resumed action at 10 a.m. after being suspended on Thursday evening in the middle of the eighth. Rhody (19-27, 11-10 A-10) had led by as much as 10-3 until a seven-run push by the Flyers knotted up the scoring in the sixth inning.

URI's initial outburst was fueled by the long ball, as Connor Grotyohann left the yard twice and both Anthony DePino and Eric Genther took Dayton (31-20, 13-9 A-10) pitchers deep. A pair of three-run bombs and an RBI single allowed Dayton to get back into contention in the middle of the game.

It was DePino who later drove the go-ahead run in as his sac fly in the eighth allowed Ryan Henschel to come home. On Saturday morning, the offense picked up right where it left off and quickly piled on five insurance runs off of a Michael Anderson home run, a two-RBI Reece Moroney double and a run-scoring single from DePino.

Tommy Hughes was the only pitcher that Rhode Island needed to use to finish out the game. Despite hitting the first batter he faced, he held the Flyers scoreless for the final 2.0 frames.
