Game Recap: Football |

Rhody Beats Bryant, 38-17

How it Happened
Gabe Winowich rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns, and Garth White kicked the longest field goal in program history as No. 13 Rhode Island (7-2, 5-0 CAA Football) beat in-state foe Bryant (2-6, 0-4 CAA Football) 38-17 on Saturday afternoon at Meade Stadium.

It was the 13th straight win at home for the Rams, the longest winning streak at home in program history.

Rhody's first two scores of the afternoon came from Winowich. Both in the first quarter. A 51-yard touchdown, and a six-yard touchdown helped Rhode Island to an early 14-7 lead.

With 19 seconds left in the second quarter, White drilled a 54-yard field goal to give Rhode Island a 24-17 advantage at the half. White's kick surpassed Colin Gallagher's previous program-best of 51 yards back on Sept. 3, 2005 versus Fordham.

Rhode Island held Bryant scoreless in the second half. Devin Farrell threw for two second half touchdowns. While Ayinde Johnson's pick-six with 2:12 left in the fourth quarter iced the win for the Rams.
