Pena Named Walter Camp Football Foundation All-American

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island linebacker A.J. Pena was named to the 2025 Walter Camp Football Foundation FCS All-America Team, the foundation announced Friday afternoon.

Pena is the second Ram in program history to earn All-American status from the Walter Camp Football Foundation joining Darren Rizzi in 1992. This is Pena's third All-American selection of 2025. The Montclair, N. J. native was awarded All-American honors from FCS Football Central, the Associated Press, and Stats Perform. 

Pena completed the season with 89 tackles. He recorded team-bests in tackles for loss (21) and sacks (11).  Pena's 11 sacks are tied for eighth most in a single season in program history, and his 21 tackles for loss are tied for third best in program history. Pena was named 2025 CAA Defensive Player of the Year.
